What We've Been Up To...

Our Forever Home

Anxious – a very appropriate word to describe how I’ve been feeling lately. There are so many things to be done but none of which I can start on until we take possession of our new home.

That’s right! We bought a house. It is a 1970’s home with 40 acres of land, a bunch of old barns and sheds, and lots of beautiful trees. We are so excited that we have found the property of our dreams! We are now anxiously waiting to move in and make it our forever home!

We have so many ideas for upgrading and renovating our new home, it is hard to sit here and wait until possession. A few projects we hope to accomplish over winter are the kitchen, the main floor carpets, and painting. Lots and lots of paint! In the spring we look forward to starting a veggie garden, pulling out some overgrown shrubs and bushes in the front yard to make room for flower gardens, and perhaps starting on the exterior appearance of the house. We also plan to seed about 30 acres for hay next year and possibly get an animal or two! The kids are constantly asking when we can get a puppy and kittens and some cows!

The kids and I have driven by a few times a week just to see the property again and dream about the future. I have no pictures of the house to share with you, but the current homeowners allowed to walk through the yard and the barns – so beautiful!

This is the largest barn on the property and we are thinking about painting it!

There are a total of four old barns/sheds. We are very excited to go sifting through the items the current homeowners choose to leave behind!

I hope to take before, during, and after photos of our renovations you can expect a few of those in the future! We can hardly wait to make this our forever home!
